Hello! Thank you for visiting my campaign page. I am running for District 1 of Minneapolis Public Schools' (MPS) School Board.

I'm an educator with over five years of teaching experience at the high school and elementary school levels. I have also been a Northeast Minneapolis resident since 2020. 

Hopefully, after learning more about me and my platform, I will have the chance to earn your vote in the general election this November. I appreciate you doing your due diligence on the local races further down the ballot. 

Teaching: This fall will be the start of my seventh school year in education. I have spent time working in public, charter, and private schools in the Twin Cities metro area. Most of my teaching career has been spent working full-time in business ed at the high school level. I have also spent time at a charter elementary school in south Minneapolis.

Education: I was a 2017 graduate of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. After spending time working in the private sector, in 2020 I went back to school and completed a business education teaching licensure program through Bethel University in St. Paul. 

Business: Prior to teaching, I worked at a local subsidiary of a Fortune 500 consumer-packaged goods (CPG) company on a sales strategy team. The bulk of my time was spent assisting salespeople who called on retailers in club, dollar, and drug store channels, as well as serving in a corporate liaison role with the natural & organics team.

Personal: In my free time, I enjoy long-distance running, coaching high school basketball, and watching the T-wolves & Loons. My favorite moment from this past summer was going up to Ely and portaging through the Boundary Waters with some friends. My favorite book I'm reading at the moment is Who is Government? by Michael Lewis.
